The gates will open to attendees at 11:30 am.

There is parking for about 150 cars at Pioneer Playhouse, and overflow parking will be available at Admiral Stadium.

Is outside, so dress accordingly...

In October, there can be significant fluctuations in the temperature over the course of the day, so dressing in layers is always a good idea!

Is a family-friendly event...

Danville and the surrounding area are blessed to have a significant number of young Queer folx who may be celebrating their first Pride at this event. We want to make the Danville Pride Festival a place where the LGBTQ+ community and allies, young and old, can feel safe and welcome.  Please see additional information regarding drag performances in the "Includes two drag shows" section.

May be a bit noisy...

There will be live music, drag shows, and a DJ at the event, so expect music, laughter, cheering, and clacker fans.

Question 5

Has a dedicated quiet space...

A loud space with lots of social interaction can be a bit overwhelming for some folx, so we have a dedicated quiet space where anyone can feel free to take a sensory or social break. The quiet room will have coloring books, jigsaw puzzles, and fidget toys. Everyone is welcome to use this space as needed, but please respect our requests to keep this space quiet.

Includes two drag shows...

There will be drag shows at 2:00 and 4:00 pm. The drag shows will last approximately 50-60 minutes each. If you'd like to tip the drag performers (and live musicians) please bring your own $1 bills.

Please be advised: If you are bringing children (anyone under 18 years of age) and you do not want your children to witness the gloriousness of drag, then don't bring them to the drag show(s). Attendance at the 2:00 and/or 4:00 drag show(s) indicates your understanding that you, and any children accompanying you, will see a drag show. The responsibility of deciding whether a child will see a drag show falls on the parents/guardians of the child, not on Danville KY Pride, the drag performers, or Pioneer Playhouse.

Question 7

Will not have guaranteed seating available...

While there may be some chairs and tables available for attendees, there will definitely not be enough for all attendees. As such, please bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on.

We are not allowing attendees to bring 10x10 tents or other pop-up tents at this time.

Question 8

Is a safe space...

Accepted Answer

No weapons (other than those carried by on-duty law enforcement) will be allowed on the premises. Local law enforcement will be present at the event and throughout the premises. The Danville KY Pride Board and Pioneer Playhouse reserve the right to remove anyone from the premises during this event for any reason.

Question 9

Has a rain plan...

Luckily, Pioneer Playhouse has some larger indoor spaces, so we have a rain plan which will allow us to move our festival indoors and under tents, if needed. No rain is gonna make us hide our rainbows!

Question 10

Welcomes well-behaved dogs...

Accepted Answer

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the event, but they must be leashed at all times. If an attendee's dog is behaving in a manner that is threatening towards other people or animals, the Danville KY Pride Board and/or Pioneer Playhouse reserve the right to ask the owner to take the dog home for the remainder of the event. The owner, of course, is welcome to return to the festival without the dog.
